Sick of Overpriced Editing Programs? Well Here’s A Free One…

I’m always trying to create something, but the problem with having a passion to create is that even the act of making graphics or music often means that you must first pay through the nose before getting your vision accomplished. I would also mention that since I have very little patience for minor details when it comes to completing a project, it’s even more frustrating to see RIDICULOUS PRICES slapped on media and music production programs at an increasing rate. I admit that there are very advanced programs out there that will justify for the higher price tag, but this is not always the case. The good news is that there are apparently some humanistic individuals that believe it’s a good thing to give artists affordable and free tools. In comes Gimp 2.4.

My point here is to introduce the completely FREE graphic production and manipulation program called Gimp (available for download at www.gimp.org). For those who have never heard of the company “Gimp”, it will probably sound like I’m being sarcastic, but I assure you it’s real and it’s completely free! I highly recommend the Gimp graphic program, especially for novices or people who are just good at getting visual arts done without needing a bunch of elite tricks on every corner. This image manipulation program is also easy to use and in my opinion, comparable to a Photo Shop (just without every single bell and whistle and minus the extortion of price). Gimp does give you the ability to use layers, retouch photos, fully edit images, and create just about any top-notch graphic from scratch. In short, whoever came out with this software is a saint in my book and has developed a very great program.

I’m glad to see that there are still people putting out free programs that are actually useful too.
